Rev. Gregory and Sandra Possman are ordained ministers with Universal Brotherhood, a non-denominational inter-faith organization headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, FL. We believe that all belief systems are appropriate as long as they serve human kind in positive ways. Our only doctrine is unconditional love, non-judgment and tolerance.

Gregory and Sandra have over 15 combined years experience as wedding ministers in the High Country. We have performed weddings in Boone, Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis and surrounding areas. We also do commitment ceremonies, baptisms, christenings, memorial services and heartfelt recommitment ceremonies. We are available either individually or together as legal Wedding Officiants to perform your perfect ceremony.

We perform:

  • Custom Designed Weddings
    • We design and perform Wedding Ceremonies for couples in love, whether it is your first marriage or otherwise.  We also have some beautiful ceremonies for blended families, in which the children may participate, so they feel they are part of the new marriage. We marry partners of different faiths, and those who have been previously divorced or widowed. We happily accommodate the inclusion of children, family, friends, music, special themes, readings, pets and different cultures into ceremonies. We perform ceremonies in Churches, outdoor sites, local lodges, bed and breakfasts, and local gardens. Spring and summer are especially popular times for weddings in the mountains so please contact us with your date to determine our availability. This may avoid disappointment. All ceremonies are performed legally and must be accompanied by a legal marriage license.
  • Sensitive Commitment Ceremonies
    • We perform beautiful ceremonies for those renewing their wedding vows.  Or if you desire a public celebration of your commitment to one another, and choose not to be legally married, we perform beautiful, custom designed Commitment Ceremonies. If your circumstances do not allow for a legally licensed marriage ceremony, contact us and we’ll discuss performing a Handfasting, Expression of Vows, or another ceremony that declares your love for one another. This affords the opportunity to proclaim your commitment in a ceremony, including family and friends, or more privately, for you and your partner.

Whether you choose a traditional or non-traditional, religious or non-religious ceremony, it is your wedding day and we feel it should be what the Bride and Groom want it to be. You may choose to write your own vows to be included in your wedding ceremony and as your wedding officiant we will joyfully weave the vows in to make the ceremony flow.

We have performed beautiful handfastings in Celtic and Native American traditions.  The use of Unity candles and sand pouring can also be incorporated into your special ceremony.

Whether you wish to elope, have a small intimate wedding or do it up in grand style, we can accommodate your marriage celebration.  Tie the knot in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains, it’s the perfect wedding destination and the ideal back drop for your wedding pictures.

New Venture Blessings PDF Print E-mail
Whether it's a new home, new business or new direction in life, a blessing can set the energy for the most benevolent outcome. Originating from many different cultures and utilizing different techniques, a blessing focuses the highest and best energies into the new venture with the intent of a successful result. These ceremonies may be done in public or privately. They may involve the participants or not, depending on the individual's preference. No matter what the purpose, a blessing ceremony can start the venture off in the best possible direction.
 
Clearings PDF Print E-mail
When a building or an area, regardless of it's function begins to feel unpleasant, negative or heavy, it's time for a clearing. Clearings may be needed as a result of an event that has taken place, to remove the energy of an inhabitant, seen or unseen, or simply to re-program the energy for new users or a new purpose. Cleaning such an area is done intuitively and can result in a more prosperous, lighter and happier environment. This is often a result of confusion on the part of the user as to what is causing the heaviness. Determining the source and eliminating it is the purpose of many clearings. Low frequency energy, regardless of its origin, can create a more pleasant, lighter and more airy feeling. This then allows for more enjoyment and can often eradicate fears generated by the locale.  Gregory welcomes any size clearing and feels it's part of his path, having worked with a number of different spaces for that purpose.

Heartfelt memorials which celebrate the life of the person or animal who has passed are a beautiful way to honor that being. Gregory has performed a number of sensitive, creative and beautiful, ceremonies for those who have made their transition. Sometimes these ceremonies take place long after the passing and are a way to help the survivors heal their grief. Sometimes they are done graveside or in a church or other facility. Allowing participants to speak and share their thoughts is always encouraged but not necessary. Dedication to the memory of the beloved is important and sometimes traditional services are not appropriate. It is an honor to perform memorial services to help the soul's passing onto it's next experience. Having performed a number of such ceremonies, creating the perfect service is our desire.
 
House Blessings PDF Print E-mail
Many people purchase a home and would like the energy of the home to reflect their own personality and frequency. To cleanse the energy of the old owners and then install your own, a house blessing is often appropriate. Some buildings, regardless of their use begin to feel dark, heavy or stale and need to be cleansed. Often a building's use changes and the owner or tenant wants the new usage to be blessed for positive results. Gregory creates personalized blessings, clearings and energy cleanses in order to insure a pleasant, safe and happy experience regardless of the circumstances.
